From Italy we needed to make our way to Amsterdam, for our onward journey to Norway. We found an overnight sleeper train from Innsbruck, which seemed like a fun thing to try.

It was definitely a novelty to jump on board and find our cosy cabin with its 4 bunk beds, but I can't say we got a huge amount of sleep on the journey :) Still, it was a new experience to wake up in a brand new country.

Amsterdam with kids was also a great experience, with lots of time spent wandering the streets and canals, and a fun couple of days spent on bicycles in the countryside and even the city centre itself. Amsterdam is such a vibrant and easy-going place that we enjoyed our time whatever the activity.
